WHAT YOU WILL DO

• Provide visible leadership to QPD teams on product development projects with ambitious timelines. Ensure the QPD process is followed and proactively improve the process and performance continually
• Manage and develop QPD and R&D engineering staff to deliver successful projects by adding value and critical review to their product management capabilities, proposals and work projects
• Champion real-time input and feedback throughout the company on all aspects of the QPD process and CPDs through launch including continuous learning and improvements
• Demonstrate and develop technical knowledge of HVAC industry
• Provide expertise, information, and customer requirements and competitor products
• Execute on occasional projects as the Design Engineer completing necessary tasks while managing the team
• Make necessary design decisions and manage or perform design functions as well as ensure that product changes maintain full functionality of the product and its safety certification
• Clearly document technical information of new product for upper management and cross functional teams
• Manage the component selection and designs of HVAC refrigeration systems
• Manage vendor relationships as part of the design process utilizing their resources when possible
• Manage and lead Engineering Interns
• Perform or direct experimental, exploratory or developmental testing
• Other engineering tasks as assigned

WHAT YOU BRING

• Proven project manager with experience bringing new product development full cycle (specification management, product costing, and prototyping)
• Builder of highly effective teams
• Driver of multiple processes and projects with a small team who has multiple priorities and time demands
• Expert on owning problem solving, troubleshooting and communicating of resolutions with precise detail and in a timely manner
• Expert (or at least knowledgeable) of the HVAC industry as well as AHSRAE, HVI, AHRI and UL standards is preferable
• Definer of problems, collector of data, establisher of facts and creator of valid conclusions
